About The Allen Law Firm
Armed with over twenty-one years of specialized experience, Mitch Allen founded The Allen Law Firm, based in Birmingham, Alabama. Before this, Mitch was a senior shareholder in the Employment Law Section of Maynard Cooper and Gale, one of the largest law firms in Alabama. Mitch's knowledge, experience, and trial skills have been recognized by his election into the Best Lawyers in America the last seven years (2005-2011). Mitch has also been given the highest attorney ranking by Martindale Hubbell, the AV Preeminent Rating.

Mitch received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in 1986 and his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1989. While in law school, Mitch was selected for the Alabama Law Review, where he was on the Managing Board . He was also elected to the Moot Court Board, where he competed on the International Moot Court Team.

After law school, Mitch served as a law clerk to Senior Federal District Judge Seybourn H. Lynne of the Northern District of Alabama, from 1989-1990.

Mitch has authored many articles on employment and wage and hour laws and is often asked to speak before lawyers and employers on the latest legal developments in his field.

Mitch is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association (Labor and Employment) and the American Bar Association (Employee Rights and Responsibilities). He is admitted and has appeared in all United States District Courts in Alabama, including the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts. He has also argued before the Eleventh and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as both the Alabama Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court.
